Kershaw Michael Crabtree Jersey 49ers offers so much, he’s worth the time and money

Every Michael Crabtree Jersey 49ers once in a while a guy comes along who seems too good to be true. That’s how it is with Clayton Kershaw. He’s the best pitcher in baseball. Let’s begin there. While there’s so much more, this is where it all begins.

Michael Crabtree Red Women’s Jersey Kershaw has led the Major Leagues in ERA for three straight seasons and has averaged 225 innings and 230 strikeouts since 2010. He’s only 25 years old, and while his velocity has dropped some, his curveball has gotten better and better. His slider and change-up are both above-average pitches.

Nothing is certain, but his mechanics, release point and ease of delivery suggest that he’s likely to pitch at a high level for a long time.

Some will point out that it’s insane to pay a pitcher $30 million a year when he’s only a factor every fifth day. That’s not how it works. Kershaw leads the National League in innings (697), quality starts (77) and complete games (10) over the past three seasons.

Those numbers tell you that Dodgers manager Don Mattingly can be comfortable going deeper into his bullpen the day before Kershaw pitches. He’s also more likely to have a rested pen the day after.

Other starters feed off the No. 1 guy. They also want to compete with him and learn from him, from his poise and approach and preparation. Every little thing matters.

So there’s that.

Kershaw Michael Crabtree Nike Elite Jersey is also among the first to arrive at the ballpark every day. He drives himself to be the best he can be, whether it’s by running wind sprints, lifting weights or studying video.

He has the type of personality that plays well over a long season. His confidence is a quiet confidence. His humility seems genuine.

He’s involved in the community and in charitable work about the world. He seems to understand that he has been blessed and that his responsibility is to give back and to attempt to make the world a better place.

When teams throw huge dollars at free agents, there are unknowns. As Branch Rickey once said, you can’t really know a player until you have him in your own clubhouse.

That’s the ultimate tribute to San Francisco 49ers Michael Crabtree Football Uniform Kershaw. The Dodgers know him better than any club in baseball, and they just made him the highest-paid pitcher in history with a deal worth $215 million over seven years.

As soon as word of the deal came out, his teammates took to social media to praise the signing. As Dodgers catcher A.J.Michael Crabtree Jersey Ellis tweeted, “Big winner today……me. I am blessed to catch best in the game for foreseeable future God willing. Congrats Kersh!” And there was this from center fielder Matt Kemp: “Congrats 2 the best pitcher in baseball and great teammate.”

For the Dodgers, it wasn’t complicated. Good teams identify their core players and lock them up as quickly as possible. In doing so, the Dodgers are telling their players and fans that they take care of their own.

For the Dodgers to get this deal done is a reminder that this is a new era in Los Angeles. From the moment Mark Walter, Magic Johnson and Stan Kasten took over the franchise, they had a basic goal.

They wanted the Dodgers to be a model franchise. They wanted to win on the field and wanted to do it with compelling players, especially compelling homegrown players who fans could identify as their own.

They spent some money at the start for two reasons. One was to win immediately. Another was to let the fans know that the Dodgers were under new management and that corners would not be cut if it impacted winning.

From Men’s Nike Niners NFL Micheal Crabtree Limited Team Color On Field Jersey having a competitive team to upgrading one of baseball’s most beautiful venues, Dodger Stadium, the new owners believe they’re on the way to restoring the luster to one of the game’s crown-jewel franchises.

Kasten will tell you these past 18 months has been the most fun he has ever had in professional sports. In effect, Walter gave him a blank canvas and asked him to do things right.

The Dodgers have had a relatively quiet offseason, with most of the emphasis on giving Mattingly job security and on locking up baseball’s best pitcher.

They could still make a splash by signing Masahiro Tanaka, the best available pitcher on the market. But they needed to sign their own 25-year-old ace before pursuing the 25-year-old from Japan.

That’s a story for another day. This one is about Clayton Kershaw and about the Dodgers putting another building block in place. So rejoice, Dodgers fans, this one’s for you. Enjoy the ride.

Cubs Niners Jersey school top prospects with taste of Chicago

The 15 prospects taking part in the Cubs’ Rookie Development Program took a break from their baseball studies to attend a Blackhawks game Tuesday. For many of them, it was their first NHL game, and also a chance to see how rabid Chicago fans are about their teams.

Niners Jerseys Store “Being at the stadium and watching all the people go crazy during the national anthem, that was awesome,” pitcher Pierce Johnson said Wednesday of the rousing performance before every home Blackhawks game. “I can just imagine what it’ll be like when we turn it around and actually win a World Series. I’m excited. It gives me chills.”

The Cubs are counting on the talent participating in this week’s program to get them that championship.

Joining Johnson were pitchers Kyle Hendricks, Neil Ramirez, Eric Niners Jersey for Women’s Jokisch, C.J. Edwards, Armando Rivero and Arodys Vizcaino; outfielders Albert Almora, Jorge Soler and Rubi Silva; and infielders Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Christian Villanueva, Mike Olt and Arismendy Alcantara. Eleven of the players rank among the Cubs’ top 20 prospects, according to Hendricks, who completed his economics degree at Dartmouth, was the Cubs’ 2013 Minor League Pitcher of the Year.

The week-long program includes drills, work with new hitting coach Bill Mueller, a hospital visit and seminars and will end with the Cubs Convention this weekend. The guest speakers included Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts, president of baseball operations Theo Epstein, manager Rick Renteria and former player Rick Sutcliffe.

“It prepares us for what’s coming,” Almora said. “They’re teaching us about what to get ready for, what to expect, what they expect from us. We’re taking it to heart, we’re taking notes. We’re in this for the long run.”

On Wednesday, the players practiced at a fieldhouse near Northwestern University’s Ryan Stadium.Junior Lake, who is expected to be one of the nquan Boldin San Francisco 49ers Jersey Cubs’ Opening Day outfielders, also took part.

Several of the players were still excited after seeing their first pro hockey game even if they weren’t sure what was happening on the ice.

“Whenever [the fans] cheered, I cheered,”Anquan Boldin Jersey Almora said.

“We want to expose them to the market, to the city,” said Jason McLeod, senior vice president of scouting and player development. “we want them to see what the fans are like here and what a great sports town it is.”

Edwards took advantage of the outing to continue his program. The Cubs want the right-hander to add some weight to his skinny 6-foot 2-inch frame. He’s listed at 155 pounds, looks thinner, and is trying to gain another 20 to 25 pounds.

“Anything I see, I eat,” Edwards said. “Last night at the hockey game, I had an Italian sausage, cheese fries, Sprite, Anquan Boldin Red Jersey Coke and a hot dog with cheese on it.”

The Cubs nutritionist may have a chat with Edwards.

Of course, all Cubs fans want to know is when the prospects — especially the core four of Baez, Almora, Soler and Bryant — will be playing at Wrigley Field and not just attending lectures.

“Ultimately, it comes down to them,” said McLeod, who won’t put a timetable on any of the kids. “They’re going to let us know when they’re ready. They have to go out and perform, they have to go out and meet some of the things we’ve outlined in their individual player plans and that’s been a theme this week. They know that and they recognize it.

“We’re not going to rush them up just to pat ourselves on the back and say, ‘Hey, look, we drafted the right guy,’ or ‘We traded for the right guy,'” McLeod said. “We’re in this for the right reasons and for the long haul. We feel really good about this group and the players who are here plus other guys who aren’t here right now. We’re taking it year by year but we have a plan in place and the guys are feeling really good about it.”

San Francisco 49ers Anquan Boldin Women’s Football Jersey The players know fans are impatient.

“That’s not up to me to decide,” Bryant said about when he’ll get to the big leagues. “I have confidence in myself to go out there every day and play as hard as I can and that’s all I can do right now.”

Baez, named the Cubs’ Minor League Player of the Year in 2013, has heard the fans clamoring for him to move up quickly. McLeod repeated that the highly touted shortstop will open the 2014 season at Triple-A Iowa.

“[Fans] don’t decide what [the front office is] going to do with us,” Anquan Boldin Niners Uniform Baez said. “We just have to wait. … I’m just trying to make it to the big leagues.”

But when?

“As soon as possible,” Baez Niners Jersey said.

On Wednesday, the players met Renteria, who gave a passionate speech.

“From the day I got drafted, I’ve said this team and this organization is a family, and Rick, it seems like he just fits in,” Almora said of the new Cubs manager, who told the players he’ll be there for them but also that they need to be accountable.

All of the prospects shrugged off any notion that they feel pressure to be the ones to deliver the first World Series to Wrigley Field and the first for the Cubs since 1908.

“There’s no pressure,” Anquan Boldin Shirts Bryant said. “Baseball’s a fun game. If you let pressure creep in, then you’re not having fun, and that’s why I play the game [to have fun].”

And to get a chance to see the defending Stanley Cup champions. Lake admitted he didn’t know much about hockey but he got the message.

“The most impressive part is how the fans are so invested in every inning, every pitch, and they’re like that in every sport,” Lake said. “It makes you as an athlete want to work harder so you can bring a championship home for the fans.”

O’s sign Delmon to Minors deal, interested in Cust Vernon Davis Jersey

One down, one to go?

The Vernon Davis 49ers Football Appare Orioles announced Monday night that they’ve signed Delmon Young to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training, the first of two players they plan on having at this week’s minicamp.

The O’s are also interested in Jack Cust on a similar deal to Young’s.

Young spent time with the Phillies and Rays last season, hitting .260/.307/.407 in 361 plate appearances. The 28-year-old has hit lefties well over his career, posting a .303/.341/.471 line, and he would primarily be a part-time candidate at designated hitter.

Cust Vernon Davis Jersey, who will turn 35 later this week, last played in the Majors in 2011 and batted .213/.344/.329 with the Mariners. He spent 2012 in Triple-A, with both the Blue Jays and Yankees organizations, and did not play last season. Cust is best known for his time with the A’s, when he hit .247/.381/.457 over four seasons.

Baltimore Vernon Davis NFL Merchandise now has nine outfielders, including non-roster invitee Quintin Berry, and is expected to have a platoon in left field this season. David Lough is likely one half of that.

Tennessee Titans: The Titans fired Mike Munchak after three seasons as their coach. According to Rapoport, Munchak could have kept his job if he were willing to make changes to his staff. Munchak had been with the team since he was drafted by the organization — then the Houston Oilers — in 1982.

Detroit Vernon Davis Red Jersey Lions: Jim Schwartz’s fate was sealed when the Lions failed to make the playoffs, per Rapoport. He was fired, but Lions president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew are safe.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Greg Schiano was fired after two seasons as head coach, and general manager Mark Dominik also was let go.

Washington Redskins: Mike Shanahan was fired as head coach, but general manager Bruce Allen remains with the team and says he has full personnel control.

Men’s Nike San Francisco 49ers Vernon Davis Elite Red Team Color Jersey Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings fired Leslie Frazier following a 5-10-1 season.

Cleveland Vernon Davis Jersey for Sale Browns: Rob Chudzinski was fired shortly after the Browns lost their Week 17 season finale. Though Chud was out as head coach, Rapoport reported later in the day that the team, for now, will retain its assistant coaches.

Houston Vernon Davis Niners Youth Jersey Texans: In the first firing of the 2013 season, Houston let go of then-coach Gary Kubiak after losing a franchise-record 11th consecutive game in Week 14. The loss put the team at 2-11, and the Texans finished the season 2-14.

Moreland Ronnie Lott Jersey may be part of Rangers DH platoon

Mitchell and Ness Ronnie Lott Throwback Jersey Designated Ronnie Lott Jersey hitter remains the last mystery in the Rangers’ lineup. Mitch Moreland is the leading candidate, but he has not been anointed as such, and the Rangers still have five weeks to go before Spring Training.

Even Moreland is unsure of what might happen before it’s time to officially report to Surprise, Ariz.

“The way it’s gone, I’m still not sure,” Moreland told reporters at a Rangers Winter Caravan stop on Sunday. “They have definitely made a lot of moves and been very active this offseason. From what I know right now, I’m still here and still a Texas Ranger and happy to be here, and looking forward to the season.”

Moreland finished last season as the Rangers’ starting first baseman. But he lost that job when the Rangers acquired first baseman Prince Fielder from the Tigers for second baseman Ian Kinsler. On the depth chart, Moreland has been pushed to the designated-hitter spot, but that may only be a part-time role as a left-handed hitter.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has at least acknowledged the possibility of acquiring a right-handed bat to go with Moreland at the position. Michael Choice, acquired from the Athletics on Dec. 3, is another platoon possibility with Moreland.

The Vintage 1989 Ronnie Lott San Francisco 49ers Football Jersey Rangers, depending on how much payroll flexibility they have, could still add another big bat to what they already have. Nelson Cruz is still available, and Daniels remains in contact with Cruz’s agent, Adam Katz. Kendrys Morales, a switch-hitter and a player the Rangers have shown interest in at times in the past, also is still a free agent. Beyond that, the free-agent market is getting thin as far as quality hitters from the right side of the plate.

Another available right-handed hitter is Mark Reynolds, who hit .220 with 21 home runs and 67 RBIs for the Indians and Yankees last season. Against lefties, Reynolds has a career .238 batting average with a .475 slugging percentage. Reynolds also can play third base, which would give the Rangers insurance behind Adrian Beltre.

The Rangers also may be saving up for a push at free-agent pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, which would be a major financial commitment. If Tanaka goes elsewhere, the Rangers still want to add starting-pitching depth, especially after losing Derek Holland for at least the start of the season after he underwent surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee.

Moreland Ronnie Lott USC College Football Jersey has shown at times he can be a productive everyday offensive player. He just hasn’t been able to stay healthy the past two seasons, and both times, injuries seem to have knocked him off his game.

He was hitting .272 with 10 home runs, 25 RBIs and a .513 slugging percentage after 55 games in 2012 when he went on the disabled list on June 20 with a strained left hamstring muscle. He came back after the All-Star break and played in 59 games, hitting .278 with five home runs, 25 RBI and a .426 slugging percentage.

Last season, Moreland was hitting .288 with 12 home runs, 29 RBIs and a .561 slugging percentage in his first 58 games before going down with a strained right hamstring. He was only out for two weeks but hit .189 with 11 home runs, 31 RBIs and a .345 slugging percentage in his last 89 games.

“Ups and downs,”New Niners Jersey Moreland said. “I felt like, especially my first half [in 20130, was pretty good. I struggled a little bit in the second half, but that’s part of the game. It’s going to happen. I’m going to try to learn from it and try to get better from it.

Ronnie Lott Retro NFL Jersey Shirt “You can find some positives and negatives. You try to build on the positives and fix the negatives as best you can. I want to be more consistent.”

The Rangers, now that they have Fielder, have talked about the possibility of Moreland being used in the outfield. He has played there occasionally in the past. But what they need most is to identify a designated hitter. Right now it appears to be Moreland, unless the Rangers aren’t done shopping this winter.

Colts’ Andrew Luck: ‘The Patriots deserved to win’ Niners Jersey Nike

Bruce Miller Super Bowl Jersey After throwing just nine picks all season, Bruce Miller Jersey Andrew Luck’s four interceptions were the difference in a 43-22 loss for the Indianapolis Colts against the New England Patriots on Saturday night.

“I can’t commit that many turnovers and have a chance to win against a good team like this,” Luck said after dropping the divisional-round playoff game. “I’m proud to be a part of this team. Guys never quit; guys never stop fighting. We had our chances and we just couldn’t get over that hump. The Patriots deserved to win.”

Luck Bruce Miller Women’s Jersey made a rash of dazzling completions against New England, but two of his interceptions led directly to Patriots touchdowns. Those mistakes obscured another monster night of production for the second-year Colts signal-caller.

No quarterback has thrown more passes in his first three postseason starts than Luck. With 331 yards through the air against the Patriots, Luck also exited the game averaging more passing yardage per start (354) than any other quarterback in NFL postseason history.

While Tom Bruce Miller Jersey Number Brady was bolstered by ablistering ground attack that churned out 234 yards and six touchdowns on the ground — leading the quarterback to call this year’s Patriots a “throwback” team — Luck, just like last week, was asked to do it all through the air. Young quarterbacks, no matter how precocious, are going to struggle in that situation.

“You can’t turn the ball over against good teams,”Niners Jersey Nike Luck said. “I wish I had learned my lesson against the Chiefs a week before, (but) didn’t. The finality of losing a playoff game is very real and it stinks.”

The Colts came into this season chanting about a power-run scheme that would wear opponents down, but that’s not an option when your defense allows 87 points over eight quarters in January. Luck — as promising a young passer as any in the league — can’t be asked to do it alone. TheseColts still have plenty of building to do.

Tom Brady San Francisco 49ers 49 Bruce Miller Team Color Elite Jersey has passed for fewer than 200 yards in three consecutive games, but the Patriots star quarterback found another way to help in New England’s 43-22 divisional round playoff win over theIndianapolis Colts on Saturday night.

With punter Ryan Allen lost to a shoulder injury, Brady stepped in to serve as the holder on a pair ofStephen Gostkowski extra points.

“Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve done that, so, I was just happy to help the team,” Brady quipped after the game. “Maybe I’ll try to renegotiate my contract or something, doing more work or something.”

To be clear, Brady hasn’t done this in a really long time.

“I think (the last time I held) was when I played in the Orange Bowl 14 or 15 years ago (with Michigan),” Brady said. “I don’t even do it in practice. They said, ‘Get in there and do it,’ and I said, ‘What do I say?’ But we figured it out.”

Gostkowski Bruce Miller Niners Football Jersey Shirt, who was forced to take over punting duties, told reporters that Bill Belichick has, indeed, recruited Brady to hold for kicks during practice, “but it’s not something you work on every week.”

In a pinch, Brady managed to avoid drumming up memories of Tony Romo’s darkest day, but we imagine New England will prowl for a punter if Allen’s Sunday MRI comes back with troubling results.

Mike Tolbert Justin Smith Jersey believes Panthers are being disrespected

The Justin Smith Jersey Carolina Panthers are aware of your skepticism, and they’re using it as fuel for their competitive fire this weekend.

2013 New Justin Smith Jersey With the San Francisco 49ers emerging as a trendy pick to roll into Charlotte and knock off Riverboat Ron’s upstarts, there’s a stench of disrespect in the air.

Tolbert told NFL Media’s Jeff Darlington that he’s used to being overlooked because he’s always been shorter and fatter. This time, it’s sticking in his craw.

“I can’t speak for everybody else, but personally, yes, I do (feel disrespected),” fullback Mike Tolbert said Friday, via The Charlotte Observer. “To me, it’s absolutely ridiculouswhy we’re the underdogs at home when we’re 7-1 at home, when we beat teams that are in the same caliber as San Francisco, if not better. Personally I got a bad taste in my mouth about it.”

Pro Bowl defensive Greg Hardy doesn’t care what the rest of the country thinks about Sunday’s showdown.

“If you don’t stop me, I’m going to break your quarterback’s face,” Hardy said. “… That’s just people talking. Naysayers, people jabbing, even old analysts and old players talking about a game that they’re too slow to play. Congrats to them. That’s what they get paid for.”

Although the 49ers have a clear postseason experience edge, Darlington couldn’t help but notice a “very loose, very casual” atmosphere as players sported Steve Smith’s “Ice up, Son” T-shirts at Panthers headquarters Friday.

Which team will the have the advantage on Sunday? San Francisco 49ers Nike Justin Smith Drift Fashion Jersey Click here for our divisional round breakdown.

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis was one of the biggest Pro-Bowl snubs this season. He might not be the anchor of the defense like Luke Kuechly, but he’s had every bit the impact this season.

Per Pro Football Focus’ metrics, Davis’ 7.1 yards per reception allowed was the lowest of any full-time 4-3 outside linebacker this season. Only Lavonte David of theBuccaneers had more stops (any solo tackle which constitutes an offensive failure).

After the third Justin Smith White Jersey ACL surgery on his right knee less than two years ago, Davis wondered where his career was headed. Would the Panthers even want him back?

“That someone was willing to take a chance on me was motivation enough,” Davis told NFL Media’s Aditi Kinkhabwala. “If they had told me, ‘Thomas, your knee has not been holding up, we’re going to have to let you go,’ I would’ve been more than understanding. I would’ve been OK with that. The fact that they were willing to stick by me — that speaks volumes for this organization.”

We haven’t seen a linebacker with better closing speed than Davis this season. He and Kuechlyoutplayed the 49ers’ vaunted duo of  Justin Smith Uniform Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman in the Panthers’ Week 10 victory.

Carolina’s defensive performance in that game was the best we’ve seen all season. Colin Kaepernick was sacked six times and held to a paltry 16 rushing yards and only one completion over 11 yards.

If the Panthers are going to shut down Kaepernick withMichael Crabtree and Vernon S.F. 49ers Justin Smith Football Shirts Davis reinforcing the passing attack, the league’s best front seven will have to dominate the line of scrimmage to the same extent they did two months ago.

Jerry Rice Jersey Petco Park to host Coleman memorial service Jan. 18

Jerry Rice 75th Anniversary Jersey Fans Jerry Rice Jersey will have the opportunity next Saturday, Jan. 18, to pay their respects to iconic Padres broadcaster Jerry Coleman at a free public memorial service at Petco Park. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. PT, and the service is scheduled to begin one hour later.

Coleman, who spent 71 years as a ballplayer and a broadcaster, passed away Sunday at the age of 89.

The service will celebrate Coleman’s life and accomplishments, both on and off the field. The event will also feature special guests whose lives were touched in one way or another by Coleman.

Fans planning to attend the service may enter through the East Village gate on 10th Ave. or the Park Boulevard gate. Free parking is available at the two surface lots along Imperial Avenue (Parcel C and Tailgate lot), as well as the Padres Parkade garage.

Elected to the San Francisco 49ers Jerry Rice Vintage 1994 Throwback Football Jersey Padres’ Hall of Fame in 2001, Coleman always tried to deflect any type of praise bestowed upon him. Whether it was for winning the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting in 2005, or his decorated military career, Coleman preferred to stay out of the spotlight.

Prior to entering the broadcast booth, Coleman was an infielder for the Yankees from 1949-57. While trying to put together a successful baseball career, Coleman also served in World War II and the Korean conflict, making him the only active Major League player to see combat in two separate military conflicts.

Commissioner Bud Selig issued the following statement Sunday night after hearing news of Coleman’s passing:

“Jerry Coleman was a hero and a role model to myself and countless others in the game of baseball. He had a memorable, multifaceted career in the National Pastime — as an All-Star during the great Yankees’ dynasty from 1949-1953, a manager and, for more than a half-century, a beloved broadcaster, including as an exemplary ambassador for the San Diego Padres. But above all, Jerry’s decorated service to our country in both World War II and Korea made him an integral part of the greatest generation. He was a true friend whose counsel I valued greatly.

“Major Jerry Rice Mitchell and Ness Jersey League Baseball began its support of Welcome Back Veterans to honor the vibrant legacy of heroes like Jerry Rice Merchandise Jerry Coleman. Our entire sport mourns the loss of this fine gentleman, and I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans of the Padres and the Yankees, and his many admirers in baseball and beyond.”

Following his playing career, Coleman first got into broadcasting in 1960. He started out calling the national game of the week for CBS, and later started calling Yankees games in ’63. He later took a job as part of the Angels’ broadcasting team before settling into a position in San Diego, where he became the lead broadcaster in 1972.

Coleman never left the position, in recent years calling Sunday afternoon games and weekday day games at Petco Park. He also spent many of his off-days at the ballpark, mingling in the clubhouse and talking to some of the countless players he had befriended over the years.

“Being around him, he was excited every day. He had energy and passion for the game,” Padres third baseman  Jerry Rice San Francisco 49ers Apparel Chase Headley said. “He was still very aware of what was going on [on the field]. You could have a conversation with him about a certain play and he’d be right on top of things. [Seeing him] was a bright spot every day.”

A time to cherish for game’s newest immortals Navorro Bowman Jersey

They defined excellence, all three of them. No secret there. At some point, they simply were looked at differently than other players. That’s how it is with greatness. There’s a respect factor, an awe factor.

We salute you, Greg Maddux. You, too, Tom Glavine. And you, Frank Thomas. Here’s to soaking in every moment of this wonderful day, breathing it deeply and appreciating that you have been bestowed your sport’s highest honor.

As great as this day is, there’s an even better one coming. No, seriously. That’ll be in the summer when you take the stage in San Francisco 49ers Navorro Bowman Jersey for Sale Cooperstown along with Willie Mays and Sandy Koufax and Bob Gibson and Frank Robinson and the others. They’re your peers now.

Let that thought roll around in your brains for a bit. Think of all the hundreds of thousands of kids who had your dreams and even all the kids who made it to the big leagues for a cup of coffee or even a nice long career. In the end, they were unable to get to the mountaintop you’ve just reached.

This year’s induction class — and with six members, including managers Joe Torre, Bobby Cox and Tony La Russa, it’s a big one — will bring the number of Hall of Famers to 309. Only 71 of them are living.

There may be more exclusive clubs on earth, but not many. And the thing about this club, the thing that makes it so special, is that it’s filled with iconic names, men whose names have been passed from generation to generation by people who saw them play, who’ve told tales of their accomplishments.

That’s where you three are now. You all will be remembered forever. You will permanently be some of the very few players every other player is measured against. At a time when it has become harder than ever to get into the Hall of Fame, you breezed in beyond the 75-percent voting requirement.

Voters clearly are conflicted by an assortment of issues, including figuring out how to factor performance-enhancing drugs into the ballot. For you, though, there were no doubts, none, zip.

Maddux Navorro Bowman Jersey For Sale won 355 games in 23 years. He did it with a fastball that might not have broken glass. Maddux was a reminder that pitching well is an art, that thinking and locating and moving pitches around are every bit as important as velocity.

Almost everyone in the game has a story or two about Maddux. For instance, there was the day then-Astros manager Jimy Williams summoned me to his side during his team’s batting practice.

“Take a look in the other dugout,” he said.

There sat San Francisco 49ers Navorro Bowman Jersey for Sale Maddux studying the Astros taking their cuts. Did he ever get anything out of it? Maybe not.

But Maddux thought he could pick up something, some tendency by watching. Very few players did this. For Maddux, it was leaving no stone unturned.

Near the end of his career, the Dodgers handed Maddux computerized game-by-game scouting reports. He studied them for a few minutes, then pointed to an at-bat that occurred several years earlier.

“Would you check that pitch?” Maddux asked. “I don’t think I threw him a slider.”

Seriously, Greg?

“We checked it,” Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said recently. “He was right! Now, how did he remember that one at-bat?”

Maddux won four straight Navorro Bowman NFL Merchandise Cy Young Awards, but he finished in the top five of voting five other times. In a generation dominated by offense and smaller ballparks and strike zones, Maddux registered a dazzling 3.16 ERA in 23 seasons.

Glavine was similar in so many ways. Every opposing hitter has tales of frustrations in facing him, how his control was precise, his competitive fires raging. Glavine would start by throwing his heater — like Maddux, he did not have blazing velocity — on the outside corner and then proceed to take whatever the umpire would give him.

Glavine was so consistent and so dogged that umpires respected his strike zone almost as much as their own.

Glavine, Maddux and Cox will give the 2014 induction weekend a distinctly Atlanta flavor, and for a franchise that has accomplished so much and is held in such high regard, that’s appropriate.

Thomas is a fitting partner for Glavine and Navorro Bowman 49ers Uniform Maddux, for he approached the game much the same way they did. He knew the strike zone, knew the umpires, knew the game from a cerebral perspective.

Thomas Navorro Bowman Jersey led the American League in on-base percentage four times but also had nine seasons of 30-plus home runs. He did it all with an easygoing nature that played well during the grind of a long season.

There are players who barely missed on Wednesday, including Craig Biggio by two votes. There are players like Alan Trammell and Tim Raines who should have gotten in. But those are discussions for another place and time.

Nothing should take away from what this day means for Glavine, Maddux and Thomas. Their greatness is unquestioned. This day should be theirs.

How writers voted in Hall of Fame balloting Aldon Smith Jersey

I will simply say that the Hall of S.F. 49ers Aldon Smith Football Shirts Fame candidacies of these players require no further introduction, no further discussion and no additional embellishment. Their accomplishments speak for themselves and their careers should be given the honor they have earned — a tangible place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown.

I’ve always voted for the best players from their particular era, and this year was no different. Using all 10 slots for the second straight year, I voted for the all-time home run leader, three pitchers who totaled 1,014 wins, a multifaceted member of the Astros with 3,060 hits, the catcher and second baseman with the most homers ever at their positions, the pitcher with the most wins in the American League during the 1980s and two first basemen whose OPS is among the best of anyone to ever play the position.

To do so, I had to revamp my ballot.Aldon Smith Stitched Jersey Gone from last year are Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, Smith and Alan Trammell. Guys I used to vote for like Tim Raines, Fred McGriff and Edgar Martinez may not be coming back on my ballot anytime soon, either. I had to also ignore quality pitchers like Curt Schilling and Mike Mussina, who had major impacts on the game.

Many good players, I fear, will be neglected as more and more greats of the just-past era join the holdovers. John Smoltz, Randy Johnson, Trevor Hoffman, Ken Griffey Jr. and Mariano Rivera are among those who will join the group over the next five years. They all should be elected on the first ballot.

I had always voted for McGwire and Palmeiro, adding Sosa last year, despite the shadow of performance-enhancing drugs hanging over their careers. But I decided this year there was no room on the ballot to waste my vote. All three came in at well under 20 percent last year and ultimately are in danger of falling off the ballot for not maintaining the requisite five percent to remain on it for a maximum of 15 years. Palmeiro, who received 8.8 percent of the vote a year ago, is right there. The BBWAA will never vote any of them into the Hall, so why keep pushing against the wind?

Meanwhile,Aldon Smith Football Merchandise Biggio (68.2 percent), Morris (67.7) and Bagwell (59.6) obviously need some help. They are all Hall-worthy. Morris, sadly, may not be able to make up the 42 votes necessary in this, his 15th and final year on the writers ballot. Biggio and Bagwell, teammates in Houston, still have plenty of time.

The first three check marks were no-brainers: Maddux, Glavine and Thomas. My fourth was Morris, and that was it. There has never been a unanimous selection, but I believe that Mad Dog has an excellent chance of beating Tom Seaver’s 98.84 percent in 1992, the highest figure ever. Maddux’s 355 career wins are the most by any right-hander since World War II. Glavine, with 305 wins, is not too far behind, and Thomas, the Big Hurt, is a slam dunk. He was the most dreaded hitter of his era — 40 or more home runs and a total of 521. I’ve been voting for Morris for years. This is his 15th and final year on the ballot, and hopefully the voters will send him to Cooperstown. I’m not ready to vote for Biggio and once again have no intention of ever punching my ballot for the steroid-suspected candidates.

Morris has flaws — a 3.90 ERA, for example. But he gets my vote for more than a decade of ace performance that included three 20-win seasons,Aldon Smith Women’s Red NFL Jersey Cy Young Award votes in seven seasons and Most Valuable Player Award votes in five. As for those who played during the period of PED use, I won’t vote for any of them.

Maddux Aldon Smith Jersey and Thomas were no-doubters among the newcomers. For me, so were Kent and Glavine. Remember that Kent thrived after leaving the Giants and without hitting ahead of or behind Bonds. Mussina maintained a high level of consistency for a long time. Though Bagwell is among the PED suspects I snubbed, I covered him and believe in his ability. I respect the sabermetric argument against Morris, but he defined the word ace in the 1980s. Smith and Biggio were difference-makers. So was Trammell; I’m a late convert to his side.

The logic remains unchanged: A Hall of Fame vote is too important to use guesswork about whether a certain player did or didn’t use PEDs. As a result, the approach here has been to vote for the best players of their era regardless. What is different is that there were so many qualified candidates that the informal rule of thumb about limiting the vote to four or five had to be ignored. And that still left off some worthy of consideration.

Men’s Nike San Francisco 49ers Aldon Smith Red Team Color Jersey There are at least 16 deserving candidates on this ballot thanks to the backlog created by recent voting. At a time when there are more and better ways to analyze players, balloting seems to be getting dumber. Let’s set Bonds and Clemens aside, because the PED suspicions are legitimate causes for concern. That said, there are still six slam dunks on this ballot: Bagwell, Glavine, Maddux, Mussina, Schilling and Thomas. Raines and Biggio are easy calls, because both impacted games in so many different ways. Morris was one of the best of his generation in the 1980s. Trammell is like Raines in that the deeper one gets into his numbers, the better he looks. Bagwell is one of the top five players on this ballot, but he probably won’t get in because writers have turned the voting into a guessing game about PEDs.

Colin Kaepernick Jersey For Perez, a front-row squat at Maddux’s greatness

As Colin Kaepernick Jersey Spring Training began before the start of the 1993 season, Eddie Perez was a Minor League catcher who was among the many members of the Braves organization excited about the opportunity to meet and play alongside Greg Maddux.

Colin Kaepernick NFL Football Shirtds After winning the National League’s Cy Young Award while pitching for the Cubs the previous season, Maddux tested the free-agent market and declined the Yankees’ more substantial offer before signing a five-year, $28 million deal with the Braves, who had participated in the previous two World Series.

Though he had seen him on television, Perez envisioned Maddux as a larger-than-life character who would look at least somewhat physically imposing. Instead, he found himself introduced to a fun-loving, mild-mannered pitcher whose appearance and demeanor were more like what you would expect from the friendly next-door neighbor.

“Everybody was like, ‘My God, look how small he is,’ ” Perez said. “We were thinking, ‘Is that him? Is that the right guy?’ ”

Twenty-one years later, Maddux stands as one of the most recognizable figures in baseball history. There is still a chance his pedestrian appearance could allow him to be undetected during a casual trip to the mall or grocery store. But those who know what he accomplished during his 23-year Major League career will clearly recognize him as one of the greatest pitchers who ever lived.

The accomplishments of Maddux and his longtime Atlanta teammate Tom Glavine will likely once again be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, when both could learn they have gained the honor of becoming first-ballot inductees to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The results will be announced exclusively on MLB Network and simulcast on live on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET as part of a three-hour live show beginning at noon. On Thursday, and MLB Network will air the news conferences featuring the electees live from New York at 11 a.m. ET.

While Perez will be thrilled for Glavine, Maddux’s election will prove to be even more special for the former catcher who now serves as Atlanta’s bullpen coach.

Perez San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick On Field Uniform was behind the plate more frequently than any other catcher when Maddux was on the mound. He had the pleasure of catching 121 of the 744 games pitched by the legendary right-hander. No one else caught more than 81.

“I’m going to be excited and I’m going to be happy for him,” Perez said. “We’re talking about the Hall of Fame. I got excited when he got inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame here in Atlanta. I was going crazy. I’m just very happy for him and very proud that I had the chance to catch him in my career.”

After appearing in the first seven games of his big league career in 1995, Perez came to Spring Training the next year and gladly accepted the opportunity to serve as Maddux’s primary catcher. The since-departed Charlie O’Brien had handled the role the previous year, while Javy Lopez served as Atlanta’s regular catcher.

During the previous few Spring Trainings, Perez had heard O’Brien, Lopez and longtime Atlanta coach Pat Corrales tell him about how intelligent Maddux was.

“They just said, ‘This guy is smart,’ ” Perez said. “‘Whatever he wants to do, let him do it.’ ”

When Perez accepted this assignment, which he held through the end of the 2000 season, Maddux was just a few months removed from having become the first pitcher to win four consecutive Colin Kaepernick Super Bowl Jersey Cy Young Awards. Assuming a submissive role in this arrangement was not going to be difficult for the 27-year-old rookie catcher who had spent the previous nine seasons at the Minor League level.

“He was a little different the way you caught him and called the game,” Perez said. “But anybody could do it. I was just in the right place at the right time.”

While it has often been assumed Maddux simply did not want to pitch to Lopez, Perez has always scoffed at that notion. Lopez was behind the plate for 22 of the 25 starts Maddux made during a strike-shortened 1994 season in which the hurler produced a 1.56 ERA — the third-best mark recorded in a season dating back to 1920.

“I don’t think there was a difference between me, Javy or anybody else,” Perez said. “I think it was just that Javy knew when he was going to have a day off and I knew when I was going to play. Maddux wanted somebody to concentrate on him all of the time. I think watching the games together in the dugout helped us a lot. Talking about the game we were going to pitch helped us a lot. I think that was the only reason. He wanted somebody to concentrate on him.”

This role afforded Quarterback Colin Kaepernick Apparel Shop Perez the honor of benefiting from Maddux’s tremendous knowledge. During those days when they were not serving as battery mates, they sat side-by-side analyzing pitch selections and gaining a better understanding of the hitters they would be facing at some point within the next few days.

Early in their partnership, Maddux informed Perez that they would never pitch Jeff Bagwell inside. But with the Braves holding a four-run lead against the Astros on Aug. 11, 1999, Maddux opted to come in on Bagwell, who sent the offering what Perez estimated to be “500 feet foul.” Later in the same at-bat, the former Astros slugger drilled another inside delivery deep over the outfield fence.

“I was mad,” Perez said. “After the game, I was like, ‘Why? We could have struck him out like we always do.’ But he was like, ‘They have a good team and they might be in the playoffs a few months from now.’ But I was like, ‘Whatever, dude, I want the complete game and I’m not worried about three months from now.’ ”

Two months later, the Braves met the Astros in the National League Division Series. Maddux completed a perfect first inning in Game 1 by striking out Bagwell with an array of pitches away.

“When we were walking back to the dugout, he said, ‘Do you remember two months ago?’ I had already forgot about it. But he said [Bagwell] was looking for the [inside] pitch the whole time. Then he turned around and laughed. That’s something I’m never going to forget.”

During his long career, which also included stints with the Cubs, Dodgers and Padres, Maddux captured the four Cy Young Awards, notched 355 wins — second most since 1930 — and joined Ferguson Jenkins, Curt Schilling and Pedro Martinez as the only pitchers who have issued fewer than 1,000 walks while recording at least 3,000 strikeouts.

“His mentality is what set him apart,” Colin Kaepernick Women’s Jersey Perez said. “When he threw pitches, his ball moved a lot. He put it just right where he wanted to put it. And he knew a lot about hitting. Every time a hitter stepped to the plate, he knew how to get him out. His command was unbelievable and he knew what the hitter was thinking and what he was looking for. That’s why he was so good.”
